Admissions Policies & Applicant Requirements

In accordance with ARC-PA Standard A3.12, the [University Name] PA Program publishes & consistently applies the following admission & enrollment practices.

Prior Education & Advanced Placement (A3.12b, A3.12c)

  • Degree Requirement: Applicants must possess a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution prior to matriculation.
  • Advanced Placement Policy: In accordance with Policy ADM-104, the PA Program does not grant advanced placement, give credit for experiential learning, or waive required programmatic coursework for prior academic or clinical experience under any circumstances.

Required Work Experience (A3.12d)

  • Patient Care Experience (PCE): A minimum of 1,000 hours of direct, hands-on patient care experience is required at the time of application submission.
  • Verification: Hours must be logged & verified through the CASPA application portal. Roles such as EMT, Medical Assistant, & Registered Nurse are highly encouraged.

In alignment with our program’s mission to serve diverse & underserved populations, the Admissions Committee strictly follows Policy ADM-101 regarding applicant selection.

While all applicants are evaluated on a competitive, holistic basis, the program consistently applies an objective scoring rubric during the application review process. Additional points are awarded on the admissions rubric to applicants who provide verified evidence of the following characteristics:
